Should a license for fishing using Live technology cost more?
Of course it should. No one questions the fact that fishing with nets should cost more, so why is there surprise that the same criteria should apply to other fishing methods?
For example, the effectiveness of a shore angler – and therefore their impact on fish – is much lower than that of someone fishing from a boat. The effectiveness of trolling or Live fishing is significantly higher than fishing “blind”.
And so on, and so on. That’s why fees should be differentiated.
Of course, there should also be an additional distinction between kill and no-kill licenses, but that raises a question: who causes more damage – the angler who catches one zander, keeps it, and then stops fishing, or the “no-kill” angler who catches and releases 20 fish?
